We started Solstice Acre in summer 2017 as a family experiment in hopes of sharing the process of making, selling, and giving back with our children by selling artisan bread at the Laramie Thursday Market, then donating the proceeds to Feeding Laramie Valley. Over that summer, we built a small but devoted customer base and sold out dependably within an hour of opening our stand at the market. More importantly, we were able to donate $1,000 to Feeding Laramie Valley, while having a great time getting to know the community.
At the close of the summer, we decided we wanted to continue to build and formalize Solstice Acre into a fully-fledged non-profit organization.
We set three goals for 2018:
Establish an organizational structure.
Build our capacity to serve.
Serve more people in Laramie.
