Update: We are now sold out! Thank you for your support and interest!
Baker Blake and I have been practicing and meditating on what to offer for Solstice Acre's holiday bake this year, and we've settled on doing panettone and stollen breads. These are traditional European Christmas breads, and in the US, you can often buy them in a box or wrapped-up in plastic after spending sometime in residence on the market shelf. We thought we can make these same breads fresh. Read the descriptions below, and order yours quickly. We don't expect them to last long!
Pick up will be at our home, 5418 Pilot Peak between 4 and 5 pm next Saturday, December 19. As we did last month, Blake and I will be set up in face masks and gloves with a table outside, ready to deliver them to the door of your car. (We will probably also be running our solo stove and wearing all our winter gear too!) If the timing doesn't work for you, let us know and we can work out a later time.
German sweet bread made with candied fruit and nuts. Ours has candied orange peel, dried cherries, currents, almonds, homemade marzipan, and is topped in a buttered-rum glaze and confectioner’s sugar.
Variation on a classic Italian Christmas Bread made with chocolate and hazelnuts. In our test batch of this delicious bread, we ate this for dessert served with creme fraiche, then ate it for breakfast and tea snack over several following days.
Happy Holidays! Thank you for your support of our non-profit this year!
